White throated dipper

Today I decided to go to a small stream in the vicinity to try to get som pictures of a White throated dipper. I would suggest att long lens for this kind of photography because the Dipper can be quite shy. I used my trusty 300 mm f/2.8 IS with a 2x extender and since I couldn’t get closer than a 100 feet.

The light was really bad so I had to crank upp the ISO really high (up to 10 000). Still it was nice to see this little winter bather diving around, trying to catch insects. It wasn’t very cold this morning so for once I didn’t freeze my fingers of. A nice change I must say =)

Best regards

Sven
